Across Borders

In the past six months, our teams have been extremely busy. Not only with projects in South Africa but also throughout the continent. Our teams have been deployed to sites in Zambia, Namibia, Malawi and Uganda to mention a few. But before any project can begin, there is a lot of behind-the-scenes preparation work that needs to happen.

TRAINING
Before we deploy to any site, we always assess our crew members to ensure that they have had the most relevant training. Whether it be rig/equipment training or making sure that they are fully updated on the latest health and safety procedures.

PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
As soon as our crews are trained, we equip them with industry-standard protective gear to ensure their safety at all times. They must be prepared for all different climatic conditions, from the freezing cold of Lesotho to the blistering heat of the Northern Cape. Our crews annually receive new hard hats, safety glasses, high-viz safety overalls, earplugs, safety gloves and steel tip safety boots. There is no compromise when it comes to the safety of our field staff.

LOGISTICS
While the crews are preparing themselves and their equipment, our logistics teams are hard at work with the preparations to get our crews to site on time. The workshops, logistics and works management teams collaborate to ensure that each rig and its equipment is tested and ready for deployment. Vehicles and trucks are serviced and checked to comply with road safety standards and sometimes mine compliance. They prepare all the relevant permits, make the necessary accommodation bookings and plan the trip to a tee.

DEPARTURE & PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Once all the plans are made, the crews start their journey ready to push production on site operations. Our administration and head office teams are always on standby to offer any support needed.
