Geomechanics receives TOTAL Best Safety Performance Award for contractors in 2017

Geomechanics won a TOTAL Health and Safety award for having Best Health and Safety performance for 2017 for having no safety incidents in 120 000 man hours during the Central Processing Facility (CPF) portion of the project. No mean feat as they worked to the intense International Oil and Gas Standards. The project entailed geotechnical investigations for a Central Processing Facility (CPF) in Uganda and a pipeline to transport oil from the CPF 1100kms to Tanga on the coast of Tanzania.

“Right from preparation phase for the Geotechnical Surveys contract- which included a number of HSE Workshops, Geomechanics always demonstrated a willingness to meet the stringent TOTAL HSE requirements. Even during operations, Geomechanics has continued to comply with the TOTAL HSE requirements; as demonstrated by their score of 74% during the Operations HSE Audit for Geotechnical Operations. Resultantly Geomechanics was invited to present their ‘HSE Journey’ at the TOTAL Contractor Forum for 2017. In addition, Geomechanics won an award for Best Safety Performance 2017 at the TOTAL World Day for Safety awards for contractors, on April 27th 2018.”
