The GeoSolar blue flat bed collectors are manufactured locally using the latest international best practices and technology to maximise the Q factor of the system.
The collector consists of 3 key elements:
1. The Absorber
2. The Frame
3. The Glass
The absorber consist of Mirotherm strip material covering 22mm diameter copper header tubes. The main body of the absorber is made from Mirotherm fins. Microtherm consists of an aluminium- or copperstrip which has been anodised on both sides; then in a world-wide unique air-to-air process, a system of three layers is applied using the physical vapour deposition technique (PVD).
While an infrared reflecting layer ensures low thermal emission (5%), the metal oxide absorption and antireflection layers ensure highest solar absorption (95%) and offer resistance against outside agents.
The Frame:The frame is made of aluminium extrusion which is anodised to 25 microns to provide a protective coating. This ergonomically designed frame uses high quality corner pieces for safety in handling and ease of construction.
The glass used is 4mm low-iron, SABS approved toughened glass. This glass is designed to withstand small stones and hail of up to 30mm in size.
