Geomechanics and Geomech Africa provide a drilling and testing service to the minerals exploration market as well as the Geotechnical and Civils industries and have over 20 years experience in Southern Africa.

Today, through a continued policy of upgrading of staff and equipment through training, replacement and maintenance, Geomechanics is one of the leaders in its field.

Geomech Africa (Pty) Ltd, started in 2006, has a class 4 BEE rating. As a group (Geomech Africa (Pty) Ltd and Geomechanics cc, we employ over 250 people with access to 50 drill rigs. We satisfy the general SED requirements with respect to female participation (five office based) and senior to middle management black employees.

Solar power at remote drilling sitesGeomechanics focusses on reducing the impact of its operations on the environment. One example is the use of Photovoltaic panels on remote drilling sites for lighting and charging cellphones and two way radios.

The Samson  Sebanda  Drilling  SchoolSamson Sibanda drilling school

Geomechanics has established the Samson  Sebanda  Drilling  School to ensure that all employees and potential employees  are fully skilled in the safe operation of  drill rigs  under all conditions. The school consists of  a 12 -seater classroom for theoretical work, a practical training area and a training drill site.
